Hundreds of Netizens Angered Over Photos of an Old Disabled Man Cleaning the Streets

Instead of helping the old man, people continued to throw garbage on the streets!

Photos of an old, disabled man cleaning the streets of Agora market of Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur in the Philippines has been posted to Facebook page Matalinong Matsing

The photos sparked anger from many netizens, citing how the old man was treated while cleaning the extremely dirty streets of the said market.
The old man was visibly disabled, but continued to clean after other people’s garbage. The photos, originally taken by Facebook user Mamdouh Gallentes Balatucal, went viral as soon as they were shared online.

(He is cleaning near Gate7 of Agora market in Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur. It is right to let him do what he’s doing? Cleaning up after other people? He is already old and disabled at that, he should be resting instead.)
‘Kung di man natin matulungan sa personal na pangangailangan sana naman po huwag natin hayaan din na maglinis sya at magligpit sa kalat ng iba.’
(If we cannot help him with his personal needs, I hope we don’t just let him clean up after the garbage left by others.)
Many netizens shared Balatucal’s sentiment, saying that the old man should at least be given a less dirty and hard job. He might be working hard in order to earn for his family and his own survival and we shouldn’t take that away from him.

Instead, netizens are saying that if there is anybody out there who can help this man by giving him a simpler job, or help him financially—that would be better.
Other netizens praised the old man who works diligently despite his age and disability.
